How to make a Super LOW Maintenance Easy No Dig, No Till GARDEN BED with no weeding!. Using Plastic Flip Beds
Filmed spring to fall 2019.
Thanks to the crew who worked on the vegetable beds: Caroline, Eva,
Kahnatahawi, Giselle, Mélodie, Jonathan, Vincent, Pierre-Luc.
The Goal is for a vegetable bed to last 2, 3 or maybe 4 years without moving it, without removing the plastic mulch. Then to Flip the plastic onto the adjoining grass bed. The holes and soaker hose are already in place. Therefore alternating from grass to vegetable garden bed without tilling, weeding, watering, or digging.
The steps are:
Mow the grass on both sides toward the bed.
Lay out soaker hose on the bed.
Pin the soaker hose straight in permanent location.
Add any amendment organic matter you have.
Add permanent plastic mulch.
Let the grass rot for a few weeks.
Make holes and seed or transplant.
Voilà a super low maintenance, easy no dig, no till garden bed. That will last for 2, 3 or 4 years before moving it.
